Greetings Teen Chic Mag Readers! We have been an official magazine for 8 months now…Yay!!! Our numbers are constantly growing and growing and growing…and we love all of the support that we are getting. THANK YOU SO-OOOO MUCH!!!
This has been a somber couple of weeks with the passing of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson on the same day, Billy Mays and just recently Steve McNair. Death has a weird way of making a person really appreciate their family, friends and the little things in life. My little sister and I decided to catch up on some quality time by going to the movies to see “My Sister’s Keeper” which is an excellent movie that did not leave a dry eye in the theatre.
I know that you’re probably wondering, “Why do I want to see this?” One because it is good and two because it will really make you appreciate your loved one while they are here on earth. You should strive to live you life to the fullest each and every day because every day you spend alive is precious.
I am a huge Michael Jackson fan and the hearing of him passing seemed a little unreal to me even though I know that in order to live one must also die. In middle school I was on the Drill Team and for Homecoming we did a “Thriller” performance for halftime my eighth grade year and it was a total HIT! So I felt that it was totally appropriate to add the “Thriller” video to my post.
On another note, the magazine has been getting several emails regarding internships, jobs, modeling, advertising and etc. Got questions? I got your answers.

HAPPY CHIC NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
The staff and I are really excited that the launch of our magazine has been so successful but with GOD on our side we would not expect anything less. Seeing that we ended 2008 on such a high note, it was only right for us to start our 2009 season with this issue of New Year, New CHIC You.
Our Fashion department stepped their game up on this month’s photo shoot, using antique cars and the SMOKIN HOTTEST clothes from C.R.O.S.S. by J. Phillips and Snooty Girl Boutique. You will see the models with some suit cases symbolizing out with the old and in with the New CHIC You!
Our very own, Audreyanna Garrett, will be reporting live from Washington, D.C. to see such an historic event this month with President Elect Barack Obama and Shauna Lanea’ will cover the touchy issue of teenage pregnancy. Stephanie Catchings is your number source for Health and Beauty and Mical J. Roy always has his ear and heart to the streets as for Entertainment (he always has the 411). Please comment on the articles and let us know what you think!
It has been brought to my attention that there are some people that are claiming to be Teen Chic Magazine. Chic readers, please don’t be fooled but the REAL TEEN CHIC MAGAZINE is the one that you are reading right now. Our OFFICAL WEBSITE is www.TeenChicMag.com, our OFFICAL BLOG SITE is www.TeenChicMag.ning.com, our OFFICAL MYSPACE is www.myspace.com/teenchicmagazine and we can also be reached via Facebook under groups. Any other media or source is not the real Teen Chic Magazine and is not owned or affiliated with So Chic Media Group.
On another note, special THANKS to Beyonce because…I’m a DIVA! Enjoy.

My vision for Teen Chic Magazine started when I was 12 years old, hanging out with my cousin Kristal as I often did growing up. It was a lazy Summer day and we were laying on the floor flipping through magazines, taking the quizzes, mocking the models poses and trying to think of a solid plan on how we were going to get the latest fashions that we knew our parents could not really afford or just would not normally buy.
Something in me, felt like something was missing in all of the magazines that we were flipping through. Education has always been very important in my family and while seeing the latest fashions was always a treat, I wanted a magazine that could convey the importance of education, fashion, politics, health, beauty and entertainment into one. There was something else that was greatly missing as well…minority faces. I was a teen reading magazines geared for teens that did not have any people that looked like me in the entire magazine and not just me but any minorities at all.
From that point on, I made it my dream to create a magazine that was sorely geared towards minority teens and Teen Chic Magazine was born. As a big sister and older cousin, I feel that it is imperative for teens to have positive role models to be able to look up to and along with having a gateway of unlimited information that is strictly geared towards helping them achieve their dreams. Thanks to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, it doesn’t seem so far fetched when we hear little girls and little boys say that they would like to be the President of the United States when the grow up because the possibilities are endless.
Thank you for taking the time to read our magazine and we would love to hear from you. Please send questions and inquires to info@teenchicmag.com and a Teen Chic Magazine Staff Member will contact you. Please stay tuned for our January issue as the the fashion shoot is smoking hot!
Happy Holidays to everyone and remember to LIVE in GLAM and DREAM in CHIC!
